This makes the natureplus quality label for building products the only European environmental label based on strict scientific criteria.
The demanding seal is recognized as proof in major building certification systems such as DGNB, BREEAM, LEED, and BNB. natureplus certified building products are QNG-compliant and thus meet the requirements of the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG).

Clean and efficient production
The production of building materials is environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, thus contributing to climate protection and CO2 reduction, and fulfilling social responsibility. The products must be fit for use and recyclable.
Environmental and Health Protection
Building products with the natureplus label do not harm the environment or human health through pollutants and particularly ensure healthy indoor environments.
Resource Sustainability
Only building products made from renewable or abundant mineral raw materials or secondary raw materials are considered. The raw materials must come from sustainable sources.
How the testing process works
Manufacturers can apply for certification directly through the cooperative testing body of natureplus Institute SCE mbH.
The natureplus institute SCE mbH decides on admission to testing based on the natureplus awarding guidelines, which are primarily determined by these factors:
Inspection of the manufacturing site(s) with verification of manufacturer's data and sample collection
Life cycle assessment of the manufacturing process, adhering to reference values, e.g., for primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions
Product-specific laboratory tests, e.g., for VOC and formaldehyde emissions, heavy metals, biocides, and contamination with harmful substances
Analysis of the product's life cycle, considering environmentally sound resource extraction, social responsibility, and potential recycling.

Every building product bearing the natureplus® eco-label must meet the requirements of the basic guidelines as well as the respective product-specific guideline.

The natureplus product database was created in cooperation with baubook GmbH and contains all products certified according to the natureplus standard, detailed technical data, and product properties related to environment, health, and sustainability.
Planners, craftspeople, and consumers can use this information free of charge and without registration.
